The programme sets out in bar-chart form recommended stages by which normal working in metric terms can be achieved. Examples are listed of products affected by the change. The guide covers legislation and financial assistance, outlines pattern of standardization now being followed by the industry within the framework of BSI organization, and a typical diary of events for the change to metric within a shipyard. Appendices cover SI units and their marine industry application, giving examples of areas of use and worked calculations in comparable units.
