FOREWORD

The Digital Video Recording Act includes a Technical Reference Document (Title 2 Section 201). This TRD includes several references to inclusion of data having to do with the Copy Generation Management System (Analog) (CGMS-A). This document is a proposed amendment to EiA-608 to include this information in a new XDS packet.

It will also serve as an Interim Standard. It is expected that this document is read in conjunction with EIA-608 as if it were in section 6.5.1 of the latest edition.
