This specification covers the requirements for a lead-free, chromate-free, cadmium-free self-priming, polyurethane coating material. This low VOC (maximum of 420 grams/liter [g/l]) coating may be used, where authorized, in place of the standard epoxy primer/polyurethane topcoat systems for the protection of metallic and non-metallic substrates. This coating is suitable for both electrostatic and non-electrostatic spray applications (see 6.1).
