GENERAL INTRODUCTION

This Standard was prepared by the Joint Standards Australia/Standards New Zealand Committee CH-025 Bitumen and Related Products for Roadmaking, as part of an overall program of revision and updating of the following series of products.

In the preparation of this series, reference was made to relevant Australian (AS) Joint Australian/New Zealand (AS/NZS), British (BSI and IP) and American (ASTM) Standards.

The methods are primarily intended for the servicing of relevant Standards for bitumen and related roadmaking products, but may also find application in investigational field work.

When stipulated in a Standard, the methods form part of that Standard but may be subject to any qualifications or modifications so specified.
