This Standard applies to CE that is designed or intended for use in connection with:

(a) a PMTS and is an addressable device; or

(b) a Satellite Service and is an addressable satellite device; or both.

This Standard does not apply to CE which are non-addressable satellite devices such as GPS terminals and satellite navigation systems.

CE is not excluded from the scope of this Standard by reason only that it is capable of performing functions additional to those described in this Standard.

For additional technical requirements applying to a particular CE, this Standard should be read in conjunction with those Standards listed in the REFERENCES of this Standard.
