Purpose

This NPG provides NASA Headquarters and NASA Centers, including Component Facilities, with guidelines for developing emergency preparedness procedures and for effectively working with regional organizations of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for response to national emergencies.

APPLICABILITY

This NPG is applicable to NASA Headquarters and NASA Centers, including Component Facilities, and to JPL and other NASA contractors to the extent specified in their contracts. Address comments regarding this NPG to the Director, Safety and Risk Management Division, NASA Headquarters, Washington, DC, 20546. Refer questions concerning the application of these guidelines to specific NASA Centers to the appropriate NASA Center Emergency Preparedness organization.
