PURPOSE. This NASA Procedures and Guidelines (NPG) prescribes the Occupational Health Program (OHP) responsibilities and procedures for safeguarding the health of NASA employees on international travel or assignment. The goal of traveler health services (see chapter 2) is to prevent travel-related illness or injury and promote effective health management for NASA employees on international travel. This NPG establishes the minimum content for the traveler health program. Recognizing that NASA Centers may have additional needs based on the specific number, composition, mission, and destination of traveling employees, this NPG does not prohibit NASA Centers from providing additional services in order to meet their unique requirements.
APPLICABILITY. This NPG applies to NASA Headquarters and NASA Centers, including Component Facilities, and to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) to the extent specified in its contract with NASA.
