ESDU 99013 contains liquid thermal conductivity data for eight glycols, six aliphatic diols, glycerol and aqueous solutions of four glycols, one diol and glycerol. Experimental results drawn from the literature for each pure compound were fitted with a four-term polynomial equation in reduced temperature. The coefficients were also faired with changing molecular structure to ensure the best correlation not only for the individual compounds but also for them as members of their chemical series. The coefficient correlations also allowed values to be predicted for those pure compounds for which no measured data exist. Experimental data for the aqueous solutions were similarly assessed, and fitted using an equation for the thermal conductivity of mixtures. The equations were used to tabulate thermal conductivity values at saturation pressure, from close to the melting temperature to about 0.9 of the critical temperature, in SI units at 10 K and 10 degree Celsius intervals. The likely uncertainties in the values presented are indicated in the text. The critical temperature, coefficients and sources of the data are given for each compound. An approximate expression, valid between the normal melting and boiling temperatures is given for the effect of pressure up to 50 MPa.
