ESDU 95015 provides information for use with ESDU 71026 in the selection of the appropriate data for tyre-runway friction. For runways for which texture depth measurements were available, cumulative probability distribution graphs show the distribution of mean texture depths in the ranges 0.004 - 0.006 - 0.01 - 0.02 - 0.04 - 0.1 in (0.1 - 0.15 - 0.25 - 0.5 - 1 - 2.5 mm) classed as A to E respectively in ESDU 71026 for all runways, for runways with rubber contamination, and for runways divided according to country (US and UK, also subdivided according to whether they were military or civil, and France). The difficulties of measuring texture depth are discussed. In addition, tabulated data according to runway length and width extracted from Aeronautical Information Publications, arranged under country of origin to facilitate the addition of further data, show the total number for which data are provided and the numbers that are grooved or are porous friction course together with the percentages of the total. Those data apply to runways in the US, UK, Japan, Australia and Switzerland. No information is given for individual runways.
