This document covers the Controller Area Network (CAN) data interface attachments, envelopes, and data content to be considered between all galley equipment using a Galley Data Bus as described within this Specification.

This document describes commands and messages or reserves the possibility to implement the following GAIN functionalities: GAIN Remote Operation (start/stop catering process, change state, etc.)

• GAIN Data Transfer (data up/download)

• GAIN Failure Monitoring (diagnosis)

• Network Monitoring

This document should be applied to all devices attached to the Galley Data Bus.

This document does not define the equipment environmental requirements, physical description of the equipment, the GAIN or GAIN system architecture, design, or operation. Furthermore, a definition of the Aircraft Interface is not part of this specification and needs to be customized according to the environment the system is integrated in.
