Purpose of this Document

This document describes a Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) specifically designed for installation in commercial type aircraft. When interfaced with a Mode S radar beacon transponder in the manner described in this document and supplemented with appropriate displays and control panel, the two units function as an Airborne Separation Assurance System
