Purpose of this Document

This document is intended as an Application Guide for users of the ARINC 629 data bus. It provides design guidance on the implementation of the ARINC 629 data bus in avionics systems. This document identifies the system issues to be resolved by the bus designer and provides recommendations on the design processes involved. The document is expected to be useful to engineers and designers concerned with the application of the ARINC 629 data bus in aircraft installations. Therefore, the features of the bus which are most appropriate for an aircraft application are described in this document.
