ARINC 440
ARNC 440 2005-OCT-14 GUDELNES FOR THE PROVSONNG AND SUPPORT OF TRANNG EQUPMENT DATA
Overview: This document provides guidelines for the aviation industry to ensure that data and solutions for training are adequately provided in content and schedule, are cost effective, and are completely supported throughout the life of the equipment. It should be used at all appropriate levels within a company (e.g., Purchasing, Operations, Training) when purchasing or developing new aircraft, major aircraft modifications, or training systems.
Training is of utmost importance to the aviation industry. Without pilots trained to fly the airplane, cabin crews trained to operate the cabin, and mechanics trained to service and repair the airplane, an airline would not be able to exist. At the very core of this training need is the requirement for data and solutions to enable such training to be conducted.
These data and solutions should be provided to the industry in a cost effective manner
While the importance of training is not debated, the requirements for data and training solutions are often initially overlooked at a time when these should be identified and implemented. The guidelines proposed in this document, ARINC Report 441: Guidelines for the Supply of Binary Format Software for Training Purposes and ARINC Report 442: Guidelines for the Supply of Chart Driven Models/Source Code for Training Purposes, are intended to ensure a more cohesive and comprehensive approach to obtain the data and solutions needed by the aviation training industry.
