This specification, in conjunction with MIL-M-24791, describes a digital fiber optic receiver for use in SAFENET LAN installations. It may also be used in other applications where the modulation rate does not exceed 160 MBd (megabaud).

This specification applies to two types of receivers.

     Type LS - for use in SAFENET class one and class two systems
     Type HS - for use in SAFENET class three systems
