This specification, in conjunction with MIL-M-24791, describes a digital fiber optic transmitter for use in SAFENET LAN installations. It may also be used in other applications where the modulation rate does not exceed 160 MBd (megabaud).

This specification applies to two types of transmitter.

           Type LP  -  for use in SAFENET class one and class two systems
           Type HP  -  for use in SAFENET class three systems

All requirements apply to both types except where indicated otherwise.
