This part defines the requirements for the general description of a device on the network of EN 50170/A3 (deterministic control network). Each of the other parts of EN 50170/A3 corresponds to a specific layer of the seven layer OSI model in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 7498-1. Figure 1 shows the location of each part within the OSI model.
