TA J-STD-015 1998-DEC-16 W-CDMA Wdeband Code Dvson Multple Access Ar nterface Compatblty Standard for 185 to 199 GHz PCS Applcatons-Tral-Use Standard
This document provides the Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA) air interface compatibility standard for 1.85 to 1.99 GHz PCS appìications. A W-CDMA PCS system offers the following features:
(a) Unified service for high and low tier applications:
(b) Toll quality speech services using the ADPCM coding scheme COM 101+ whichis the PCS version of the Advanced ADPCM (ïïü-TS G XWII WP/8) COM 10 1:
(c) Maximum available channels per cell is 128 for 5 MHz bandwidth, 256 for 10 MHz. or 384 for 15 MHz:
(d) High speed voiceband data service up to 14.4 kbps using the ADPCM coding scheme COM 101+;
(e) High speed data services up to 64 kbps using wideband modulation. The data rate can be extended to 144 kbps to support ISDN in the future; and
(f) This W-CDMA system has been designed for low complexity.
In this standard. Section 3 describes the physical layer of the air interface for the personal station with 5 MHz bandwidth. Section 4 describes the physical layer of the au interface for the base station with 5 MHz bandwidth. Section 5 describes the physical layer of the air interface for the personal station with 10 MHz bandwidth. Section 6 describes the physical layer of the air interface for the base station with 10 MHz bandwidth. Section 7 describes the physical layer of the air interface for the personal station with 15 MHz bandwidth. Section 6 describes the physical layer of the air interface for the base station with 15 MHz bandwidth. Section 11 describes the Data Link Layer. Section 12 describes the Network Layer. Authentication and Privacy. Section 14 describes Speech Coding. Section 15 describes the Data service. Sections 9. 10 and 13 have been reserved for future use.
