1. SCOPE:

1.1 Scope:

This specification covers the general requirements for pneumatic control valves for use with the starters on aircraft gas turbine engines.

This specification shall be used in conjunction with AS943, ARP949, and AIR1639.

1.2 Classification:

Pneumatic starter control valves shall be one of the following two types:

a. Type I: Regulating (pressure)

b. Type II: Nonregulating (on-off)

The type will be assigned by the procuring activity in accordance with MIL-STD-875 and shall be specified in the model specification.
