Purpose

This document describes the requirements for air vehicle fuel, vent, and propulsion fuel system functional components.

Classification

Components shall be identified by class based upon a temperature environment

Non-standard environment: Whenever the temperature environment exceeds the classes of section 1.2, or where unusual circumstances exist, the lowest and highest liquid, vapor, and ambient temperature shall be identified. A component may still belong to one of the above classes if the exposure to a higher ambient temperature (T_a) is transitory and does not result in the heating the component more than 30 °C above the test temperature (T_t) for more than 15 minutes total during 10 hours of operation.
