Purpose:

This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) specifies minimum requirements of hand-held portable fire extinguishers, as identified below, for use on fires which may occur in the passenger cabin of air carrier transport aircraft. The types of fires for which these extinguishers are intended are further specified in this standard.
