Purpose:

This specification covers the engineering requirements for electroless deposition of low-phosphorus nickel on various materials and the properties of the deposit.

Application:

Primarily to provide hard, ductile, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant surfaces for operation up to 1000°F (540°C) and to provide uniform build-up on complex shapes. Maximum hardness and wear resistance are obtained by heating parts as in 3.3.2.
